The European Framework of Reference comprises six different language levels (listening, reading, speaking, and writing) and lists the required language certificates in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).

With the Skilled Immigration Act, not only academics but also skilled workers with professionally recognized qualifications now have the opportunity to work in Germany. This usually requires a proven language level of A2.
