Jordan IPP3 is the world’s Largest Tri-fuel combustion engine power plant, located on a green field site at Al Manakher, 30 km from the Jordanian capital Amman. The plant is designed to use natural gas and heavy fuel oil (HFO) as its main fuels and light fuel oil (LFO) as the back-up fuel.
The power plant is equipped with 38 Wärtsilä 50DF internal combustion engines (ICE), which can produce 573 MW of electricity at the country’s harsh ambient conditions and 632MW at conditions set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The plant is capable of switching fuels during operation, without causing a fall in the generation capacity.

The plant is capable of switching fuels during operation, without causing a fall in the generation capacity.

Al Qatrana power plant is a natural gas-fired power plant, 100 kilometers (62 mi) south of Amman, Jordan. The generating capacity of the power plant is 373 MW. Natural gas to the plant is supplied through the Arab Gas Pipeline.
The power station used natural gas as the main fuel and distillate fuel oil (DFO) as a back-up. The plant was a traditional design of combined-cycle (CCGT) with (SIEMENS Gas Turbines (STG5-2000E) with rated capacity of (168 MW), two heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) (supplied by Daekyung Machinery), ŠKODA Steam Turbine (SGen5-100A-2P) with rated capacity of (130 MW).

Senior Instrument and Control Engineer at The Petroleum Projects and Technical Consultations Co. (PETROJET)

A second Cold Crystallization Plant (II) is a huge extension project of Arab Potash Production Plant and came into service in late 2010 to give a total production of 450,000 tons/year. The new plant has certain modified processes and more advanced technology, mainly in crystallization, flotation, screening, leaching and other areas, and an advanced control system (DCS) was incorporated to facilitate control of various processes. Highly efficient dust collection systems were included in the new plant to ensure minimum dust emissions into the surrounding environment. A new compaction plant was also installed to produce more than 260,000 ton of high-quality granular potash. The new compaction plant comprises a post-treatment unit intended for enhancing the quality of granular potash.
